UV-C Lights

UV-C Lights for sterilization of room air

I’ve been using UV-C lights to clean the air in my house for about two years. UV-C is ultraviolet light around a wavelength of 260 nm. This wavelength light disrupts DNA and kills mold, viruses, bacteria, mites and other unwelcome invaders.

UV at higher wavelengths ( A and B) does things like cause ozone production from oxygen in the air, or cause tanning of your skin. UV-C is carcinogenic and causes skin cancer, so you want to avoid personal exposure to the light.

About the time I first became involved in this, there were vendors falsely advertising lights that didn’t produce UV-C, so in buying lights, it’s good to test for UV-C with test strips or a meter.

welcome to Saint Louis!

This is one of many sites I’ve set up just to store and make available some of the neat stuff I find, mostly on writing, internet commerce, education and just about anything else I find interesting.

Many of these things I’m able to offer for free perusal and download in a member area. If you join the forum. Other things, some graphic tools and software, for example, I don’t have a license to give away, so have to sell for some minimum price, easily paid through PayPal. Don’t worry, it’s safe. I’ve been using PayPal since it was first started, almost 20 years ago. Without a mishap. It’s safer than the grocery store, and a hell of a lot safer than the government. I’m certain my medicare records have been hacked and distributed around the world!

There are also links to many other sites I found interesting, including some of my own.

Take a look around, join the forum if you like, it’s free. Read and ¬†download interesting stuff. Comment if you want in the forum area.

I’m still learning, so don’t expect everything to be perfect!

Happy browsing!
